On-shift Expectations
Show up on time: It is expected that you show up and are ready to start working by the time your shift starts.
Update your attending: every 2 hours throughout your day, or whenever you need guidance, come by and update your attending on your current situation. We can help guide your care, give you pointers, and ensure you stay as comfortable and effective as possible.
Ask for help: If you haven’t seen something before or aren’t sure about the diagnosis it is imperative you ask for help. “You don’t know what you don’t know.” But this ok, our job is to teach you!
1 Hour End of shift wrap-up: You are expected to keep seeing patients up to one hour before your shift ends. At the 1 hour mark you will transition to a role of:
Wrapping up your current patients
Medical Screen patients to ensure their workups are started
Seeing very easy patient presentations if you are able to quickly dispo
